Fifty-two in the front eleven teeth behind I never seen a bluer sky ain’t never seen a greener light Not lookin’ for trouble not tryin’ to hide But the faster I go the better I feel There ain’t no stoppin’ now don’t tell me to heel CHORUS: I got the wind at my back Wind at my back… ‘Cross the plains and up the climbs Don’t matter none I got air on my side Out of the west across the fields There ain’t no stoppin’ now don’t tell me to heel CHORUS Black rubber slices hundred PSI Indestructible quadriceps that take me everywhere I don’t deny I don’t wanna belay the dull roar in my ears But the faster I go the bigger the high Got plenty time for restin’ after I die CHORUS

Killers 03:14
I see the killers out on the street Rollin’ with a boom that knocks you off your feet In every color shape and size Gasoline veins and piston thighs It’s bloody murder around every bend Run off the road and left for dead From Carolina to the Canyonlands Eighteen-wheelers and unmarked vans I see the killers out on the street Burnin’ down the road but I got them beat It’s such a pleasure to lay the hammer down Fifty miles an hour on the drop into town My sweat is shining flood every pore However much I got I want more more more My heart is blastin’ blood through my veins Ain’t no castle I’m the king of the lane CHORUS: This is the sight this is the pain Watchin’ the world slip away This is the sight this is insane Lost in the poison of our dying days I see the killers CHORUS
3.
Early Tuesday mornin’ on my way to work See an old man walkin’ cigarette in his mouth cap covered in dirt Flip flops and a beer in his hand Well on his way to the promised land He’s flyin’ too high livin’ too low Nowhere to turn nowhere to go Early Tuesday mornin’ on my way to work See a little kid cryin’ out in front of his trailer and he’s clearly hurt His mom is yellin’ and raisin’ her hand He screams and cries as she smacks him again She’s flyin’ too high livin’ too low Nowhere to turn nowhere to go Yeah the sun is shinin’ so that I can see But I don’t know what to do and I don’t know how to be Flyin’ too high livin’ too low Nowhere to turn nowhere to go
4.
Slowly like a fog in the mornin’ over water we’re driftin’ Shadows tall and strong disappear into the new day Song is ringin’ out music’s comin’ in Voices of the woods voices of our kin Reverb of the hills reflecting melody over land CHORUS: Burnin’ like a jealous lover I see our star is shinin’ Rising turnin’ black into blue Spinning on an axis invisible to our naked minds Yeah stronger light will show us the truth Sure as vanity in the mirror is a spiller of secrets Time and minds allied to get beyond “In the beginning” Song is ringin’ out music’s comin’ in Beauty in ourselves beauty in our kin Gardens of the mind laden with a fruit overhead CHORUS: Burnin’ like a jealous lover I see our star is shinin’ Rising turnin’ black into blue Spinning on an axis invisible to our naked minds Yeah stronger minds will show us the truth No gods no masters Bring it louder bring it faster
5.
I wasn’t born broken but there is something like faith I have I may not be here tomorrow in sorrow seeds of goodness deep within us My mind is mine and no one else’s No I’m not immortal and to the ones who like to say I am give up your tryin’ Sun is shinin’ hot and blindin’ and I don’t know why we need an explanation CHORUS: There’s a fire burnin’ in the darkness I wasn’t born broken but there is something like faith I have in possibility Humility clemency humanism is remedy for lies and crimes of superstition No I’m not immortal and to the ones who like to say I am the holy factors Thieves and hackers high and mighty hallowed actors Why do we need their empty benedictions CHORUS
6.
Pledge allegiance to the logic and pain To know that we’ll suffer maybe die in vain There’s no entitlement and no guarantees Just power used impeccably and the courage to think We are the infidels the heathens indeed Acting out of love for the world at our feet We are inexorable by superstitious hate The beginning of the living is the end of faith CHORUS: Uncritical loyalty is insanity Belief in absurdity leads to atrocity Rejecting ignorance and the unjustified Worldly knowledge suffocates the mythical mind Inoculated from violent martyrdom Divested of the shackles of the mentally numb No consolation at the expense of the truth Canonized tales of yore are hardly a proof It’s so ridiculous to believe in a fate The start of evolution is the end of faith CHORUS Now is the time to feel the light Now is the time to sing Now is the time to embrace your might Now is the time to lead CHORUS Now is the time to seek the truth Find what is right in your mind Now is the time to deny the lines Making sacred and divine out of lies

I'm Alone 05:12
Sun’s comin’ up after a starry night Shedding light on this little nowhere town We came en masse rollin’ in slow and fast We staked our claims in a grassy field Sun’s comin’ up after a solitary night It isn’t right to sleep all alone I need my honey to squeeze me tight Her lips to soothe me and chase away my pain CHORUS: The sun is burnin’ my wheels are turnin’ and I’m alone The rain is fallin’ but the road is callin’ and I’m alone Out on the road lookin’ for a speck of shade We’ve got it made pedalin’ for a week No bills to pay and all we can eat But I need my woman to give me her love to make me smile to feel her heat CHORUS Seems so long since I’ve been dreamin’ Seems so long since I’ve been seein’ All the days and all the nights alone I’m alone

I’m stuck in a cage the size of a bug Tried to make some time but I’m out of luck Truck of death ahead and a taxi behind Spent the whole morning just sittin’ in line But if I was on my bike I’d be there by now If I was on my bike I’d be there by now It’s eight o’clock I’ve been up since five Gotta get to work gotta make a dime Get some clothes on my back and shoes on my feet Rather trade them out for some cycling cleats ‘Cause if I was on my bike I’d be there by now If I was on my bike I’d be there by now Feel the drummer in a Rush cover band Who’s become numb in his feet and his hands Red barchetta doesn’t fit the part My pedal machine is closer to the heart ‘Cause if I was on my bike I’d be there by now
9.
Fallow Field 04:50
I lay in a fallow field Next to a stand of young locust trees The swift creek running milk-chocolate brown led me here Out of sight of the dead-end road I feel the power of the sky As the thunder shakes the earth And the rain begins to hammer down CHORUS: Miles behind and miles to go Burnin’ in the summertime heat Miles behind and miles to go And tonight in a warm fallow field The roar of the storm fades away Leaving the sound of the crickets and the breeze Tucked into the tall grass is a man and his wheels Silent and pulsing like a firefly’s glow I feel the power of the sky As the stars fall to earth Leaving a trail of dust in my lungs CHORUS

about

This is the first record from The Tailwinds, though it can also be considered the follow-up to frontman/songwriter Attila Horvath's debut "Bike Rock." From the rockin' and defiant track "Killers" to the almost ethereal "Fallow Field," cycling themes abound. There are also themes of tragedy and uncertainty on "Nowhere To Go" and a trilogy of songs addressing atheism starting with the tune "No Gods No Masters."
